Brunswick Partnership for Housing Receives Major Gifts

Brunswick Partnership for Housing (BPH) announces the receipt of more than $120,000 in major gifts to support its mission of bringing transitional and affordable housing to homeless families in need.

Gary and Sharon Chadwick of Wilmington, NC, have generously donated $50,000 to Brunswick Partnership for Housing. An attorney for the Title Company of North Carolina, Gary has cultivated long-time relationships in Brunswick County. “We believe in giving back. My company has benefited through the years due in large part to the growth in Brunswick County. We think of this contribution as a ‘hands up’ to those with, hopefully, temporary needs,” he said. He is active in the Brigade Boys and Girls Club and supports services that help families in need.

This month, Brunswick County awarded a contract for services in the amount of $45,000 to BPH. This contract enables BPH to provide a Homeless Outreach Specialist to assist individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. BPH is pleased to announce that Arvis Andrews was hired and can accept referrals from nonprofits, churches, individuals and public agencies. Referrals may be made to BPHoutreach@outlook.com.

The generosity of the community continued through holiday events. The Trinity United Methodist Church held its Home for the Holidaze Musical Extravaganza on December 4, in support of BPH. Through generous contributions of participants, the event raised nearly $4,000 and, in addition, more than $21,000 was donated to BPH through the Trinity UMC account. On December 3, the Encore Holiday Home Tour Reception was hosted by Debi Gallo and Barry Fulton where more than $1,500 in donations were received to support BPH.

“We are so grateful to the generosity of the friends and organizations who support our efforts to lift up homeless families in need,” said Executive Director Sally Learned. “Gifts and grants such as these are critical to this mission. As 2021 comes to an end, we encourage those so inclined to consider a year-end gift to BPH.”

Established in 2019, Brunswick Partnership for Housing is a nonprofit organization in Brunswick County addressing the need for transitional housing for homeless families and advocating for affordable housing. BPH seeks to provide a stable living environment for those seeking a permanent housing solution.
