The late John McCain has always been a challenge for Democrats. On one hand, most of us disagreed with John McCain, the politician, when it came to his positions on the issues. On the other hand, it would be difficult to find a Democrat who doesn’t have enormous respect for John McCain, the man. It never once crossed my mind to question Senator McCain’s loyalty or his conviction to always act in what he felt was the best interest of ALL Americans.
Therefore, I must speak out about the abhorrent decision by the White House to exclude the McCain battleship and its sailors from the festivities surrounding the President’s visit to Japan. This was an affront to every American, in or out of uniform who, like me, has always harbored enormous respect for the late senator.
But where is the outrage among Mr. McCain’s fellow Republicans? Richard Burr, Thom Tillis, David Rouzer, Bill Rabon, Frank Iler; how dare you wave the flag on Memorial Day and claim to cherish current and former members of the armed services and then turn a blind eye to the despicable treatment of one of the great American heroes of the 20th century?
We’ve known for a long time that our President has no decency. Now I ask, where is yours?
