In addition to getting involved with the Brunswick County Democratic Party, there are a number of local advocacy groups, non-profits, and other organizations whose causes are in line with our Democratic values like democracy, voting rights, human rights, and the environment, to name a few.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Clean Cape Fear is an alliance of established advocacy groups, community leaders, educators, and professionals working together to restore and protect our water quality, as well as spotlight deficiencies in governmental regulations that adversely impact our right to clean water.

People Power is the ACLU's grassroots army. They work with volunteers and supporters in every corner of the country to defend civil liberties and civil rights.

Founded in 1909, the NAACP is the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization. Its members throughout the United States and the world are the premier advocates for civil rights in their communities. The North Carolina Conference of NAACP Branches is 70 years old this year and is made up of over 100 Adult, Youth and College NAACP units across the state, convenes the more the 150 members of the Historic Thousands on Jones Street - HKonJ - Peoples Assembly Coalition, and is the architect of the Moral Monday & Forward Together Movement.
