Brunswick County, NC, is a challenge for Democrats. Not only are they a minority, but most voters ignore individual candidates and simply vote by political party. As a result, candidates whose names are followed by a "D" on the ballot have a tough time winning elections.
The challenge was to create one postcard that would serve three purposes; get Democrats out to vote, present the many issues at play with an emphasis on those most important to local voters, and educate Independents and more moderate Republicans about what that "D" actually stands for.
The answer was a postcard packing a lot of information that could be absorbed with little more than a simple glance.
